I haven't been able to read the entire thread but, if people are wanting recommendations of shows they might have missed I can certainly recommend a few.
I am a big fan of the WB/DC animated shows and many of these are available on Netflix (mostly US). Apart from the obvious ones (Batman TAS and Superman TAS) I would definitely recommend Justice League. But if you want something quite surprising try "Young Justice" it's surprisingly good. Only the first season is available (which is sad because season 2 is better) but considering the target audience it's far better than you might expect.
The first season of Arrow is also on Netflix and that's also much better than you might think (although I found some of the "family drama" eyerolling).
A couple of people recommended Jericho - I agree. I watched it once I really did enjoy it far more than I should.Comment

Do you know something? I was watching that Taking Woodstock film by Ang Lee the other day. In it, there is a transvestite security guard. I couldn't quite put my finger on it until the credits rolled. It was Liev Schreiber. Which brings me on to Ray Donovan. It's back - season 2 starts Sunday. Good timing now that Ive just finished Sleepy Hollow.Comment

I'm currently re-watching The Wire, which I first watched late last year, running into early this IIRC.
I strongly agree with those who recommended that the entire thing should be watched from start to finish at least twice. Even though I now know the fundamental story arcs and subplots, there's quite a bit of detail in there that becomes apparent on a second viewing.
I'll probably watch it a third time later this year, or next year some time. It bears re-viewing wellComment

Helps with the commute in the morning.
Certainly, it's nowhere near the early seasons of Weeds, by the same person.Comment
