Terrible loss, and at such a young age too.
He lived in Cheshire. Hope he was not one of Wilmslow's neighbours.

Reminds me of that Christopher Foster who appeared his normal-ish self at a party (as shown in a photograph that was published) just hours before he decided to kill his wife, daughter, their horses and pets, then himself.

Hard to comprehend such a state of mind that drives you to take your own life. At least Gary didn't take anyone with him.
Feist - 1234. One camera, one take, no editing. Superb. How they did it

Very sad to hear this. One of the few in football that could be looked up to. Dedicated and professional.

I suspect that there is more to this story, I hope it is not going to destroy his reputation.

If the rep system was still anonymous I have a feeling you'd be down low enough to be the meat in a russell/pacharan sandwich.

I'm up to "On the Bench" now, or was this timed to coincide with my real benching ? Crafty bastas!

People always imagine that people only have such problems when there are obvious reasons - divorce, debt, prosecution etc but the mind doesn't actually work like that unfortunately. They may strike at what, on paper, seems like the best time of your life.

Do you think it was middle age crisis, that point men reach when they know they have already peaked and cannot possibly succeed any further than they already have? It affects us in many different ways, and for some the emotions are extreme, especially for 'celebs' or sports stars. Look at George Best, for example.

I've always thought that if I were to kill myself (due to b1tching from the Mrs!!) I would rather run off and do things in Life that I wouldn't ever do otherwise - like go abroad and experience things that I've always wanted to try. You know, live it up as far as possible rather than just chuck it the towel, if that makes sense.
