Couple in the rise in Aussie house prices, fall in the pound to Aussie dollar, fall in UK house prices and people who left with £300K can now return with £1m buying power.
I emigrated here in 2004 to be near my son & family. When I came I was getting $3+ to the GBP. My income comes from UK in the form of the State Pension (frozen at the rate you leave). Plus a private pension. Now at to-day's rate I will get $1.59 to the pound sterling.Comment

If you're going to be on benefits, they need to actually cover your needs otherwise it's rather pointless. I'm sure I read that housing benefit in particular is being squeezed very tightly, which is bad for mesince my house is let in an area dominated by DSS tenants.Originally posted by MaryPoppinsI'd still not breastfeed a naziOriginally posted by vetranUrine is quite nourishingComment
