Position Summary
Our client, a major European Investment Bank, is looking for talented C#/.NET and Java Developers to join their London based team. The successful candidates will play a pivotal role in the development and deployment of a strategic trade management application to support the business globally.
Ideal candidates will most likely have experience with other coding languages which will be hugely advantageous in this role. This is a great opportunity for passionate, creative developers who want to further their careers in an investment bank and work on an exciting team utilizing cutting edge technologies.
In summary, we are looking for strong hands-on developers who have development experience in either Java or C#.Net.
Required Skills & Responsibilities
Strong development experience using C#/.NET technologies or Java Technologies
Passion for designing and creating top quality code
Ability to write robust, maintainable, testable, efficient, fit for purpose code
Design/Architecture skills. Some knowledge about building scalable Enterprise Level systems
Experience of additional programming languages is highly desirable
Qualifications and Educational Requirements
Bachelors degree
Self-motivated, dedicated and decisive
Possess leadership, diplomatic and motivational skills
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Insistent on quality deliverables
Detail oriented with creative problem solving skills
Ability to execute under accelerated timeframes
Ability to quickly adapt to change in priorities
Tolerance for conflicting demands on time and resources
Must provide 3 professional references

£200 a day.

Would that rate even cover the travel and accommodation expenses into London, or cover the cost of living there?

I doubt it. I think a 'survey' (can't remember the source so may have been bollocks) found that you need at least £50k / year to even start to live comfortably in London. Of course that may be per household so a couple earning £25k each may be enough.

£200/day over the year, assuming ~20 work days a month comes to only £48k.

It's almost as if they don't understand that doing ivory-tower strategic development ("in either Java or C#.Net") in an investment bank is more demanding than doing it elsewhere...
