Whatever you are, logical and analytical you are not.

I agree it was a thread title designed for controversy, but ironically your responses indicate you possess all you accused me of: bigotry and small-mindedness.
I know more of Germany than most and like the Germans. But if you like a people you can see their flaws most clearly.
Notice I say nothing much of French apart from their economy, because I don't care for French culture at all.
    Hard Brexit now!

I am not sure if anyone else has posted this, apologies if so. But I have noticed two things about the French, first, they, as a nation appear to enjoy eating cheesy comestibles. Secondly, when under pressure of an Arian assault, they tend towards the surrender monkey end of the scale.

In physics yes, in society goodness no. With each passing generation you hope we learn from the mistakes of our past not to be foolish enough to repeat them. How else are we to strive for '*What a piece of work is a man....'

Yet the UK media continues to increase the distance of the country, from the continent, with a thinking that belongs in the past. What a darn shame this shortsightedness. Dave was right to use the three whips before the daily mail readers threw the country to the dogs.

That will belong in the past perhaps. A unified Europe and a unified world eventually is a great goal but has to come about slowly. Generally "our" culture is whatever we grew up with but most have great difficulty adapting to huge social changes within their lifetime. It isn't simply about irrational conservatism either but about practical realities that impact our lives.

Indeed. The mistakes of our past are part of our history. And we learn from history, for there is no other way.

So how do you square that latest statement of yours with this?

Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.
