So how do you square that latest statement of yours with this?

There's a lot of connections you don't make and things you don't see.
That's because making connections between seemingly disparate events and objects is a sign of intelligence, something you do not possess in abundance.

You haven't answered the question, which was how do you reconcile the contradiction in these two views of yours?

View 1: "Why people in England believe the events of 70 years ago have any bearing on those affected by today's crisis. Utterly boring IMO. Let history be exactly that and move on."

View 2: "With each passing generation you hope we learn from the mistakes of our past not to be foolish enough to repeat them."

I suspect I know the answer actually.

Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.

Ah yes, what passes for Germanic wit. You've lived too long in Krautland.

While you're waiting, read the free novel we sent you. It's a Spanish story about a guy named 'Manual.'

                    What contradiction?

View 1: Is about people looking in the past for answers with no idea how to move forward. Reeks of bitterness IMO.

View 2: Is about "I've learnt so much from my mistakes I'm thinking of making a few more" - Yet the UK does not.

Implication of contradiction seems to me hook line and in sinker with the characteristics of view 1, looking for flaw rather than result. Redundant of ideas capable of only consumption, what a waste.

This now the UK as I see it, pillage for what's worth create nothing. Sad times indeed.

I can see why you left though. Not speaking German wouldn't be a handicap, since you couldn't speak English anyway.
