as for your comments on communism I have never heard such an incredibly stupid statement, which considering ATW often makes comments is quite an achievement

Couldn't stand that Welsh git, now I can't stand him even more now that he and his missus is leaching off the tax payers as Euro MPs.

Quite agree - I forgot the smiley on my original post!

Wasn't his finest moment sacking the EU Commission's chief accountant because she blew the whistle on the way the EU's annual £63 billion budget was mismanaged, accountants hadn't been able to sign it off for 15 years.

I'm quite surprised some voters are happy to be part of an organisation like that.

How is that significantly different to the unions holding the country to ransom? The stranglehold of the financial industry on the UK economy needs breaking just as much as union power ever did.

            • What do you expect the real impact would be in practice (i.e. in the real world) if a referendum result was "leave the EU"?
            • Or, what do you expect to happen if a referendum result was "get back powers from the EU". What powers? Who chooses them? How would this be achieved?
            • Or, what else would it ask? What do you want exactly?

An "EU referendum" would be fairly pointless, especially at this point in time where voters are swung this way and that daily by news from the eurozone. I think it's time for some others on here to "get real" and think through what they are complaining about. Really.
No point in having a referendum as after seeing the fast of the referendums in Ireland and Portugal the questions will be worded to keep us in the EU and we will keep having them until we give the "right" answer to stay in according to our government.

Plus a lot of the problem with the EU is the interpretation and implementation of the Directives into the laws of England and other parts of the UK.

BTW the media and MPs purposely mix the EU and the ECHR because it suits them to confuse the common people. They also hide the fact that some government departments ask permission from our courts to send some legal cases straight to the ECHR for a ruling.

I'll take the 'venomous' Thatch over the self serving B'Liar any day.

Had to laugh - Saw Jackboot Jaqui on the tube this morning and she was defending the Feed in Tariffs which we all know are too generous because they are oversubscribed (that is cause and effect for you, give out free money and people want it, spend all your money on things that don't bring in more money and your successor needs to take hard choices).

She reminded everyone of 'Vote Blue get green' and said its 'Vote Blue and get Blue' I think someone should congratulate her on that, maybe 'The great thing about Labour is they are true to their principles You know whenever you vote Red we always find the country ends up in the Red.'

Thatcher for all her failings (she like Churchill, Wellington & Nelson was less than perfect) took a near bankrupt country infected with 'Spanish practices' and turned it round so the lefty comedians could complain about ordinary people making money remember 'loadsofmoney'?

All Bliar and moron did was import cheap labour to force poorly paid native workers onto benefits, hid even more workers on sick benefits and put us into hock with their friends via PFI. Remember Bliar has made more money from his fame & position than almost any previous incumbent, if he was so financially astute why was the country in such a state when he finished? Why because they were using it as a vast social engineering laboratory to breed a new generation of Labour voters.

Thatcher gave out tough medicine but we were sick, the majority recovered and dole payments were made to those who didn't. The New Lie put the whole country on anti depressants when we have a cancer within, we will all just get worse until its excised.

We are getting close to a position where benefits are not going to get paid at all, then we will have a problem, 3 meals from Anarchy remember.

So explain then why communism is so "perfect" and then show us an example of it working efficiently

                    - China (proven to be working better than capitalism)
                    - Vietnam (till they were invaded, massacred and left at the starting line again)

China has a capitalist economy run by despots who call themselves "communists" . A communist economy is a planned economy that is not open to the dynamics of the free market.
