    A well cared-for decent handbag (mid-sized).

Rootling around a huge, scruffy handbag trying to find things is not a good look.

I have one just for this purpose as it's too small for real life

Actually, I'd say that everything should be in your head.

I've never taken anything into interview, concentrate on what you're saying, they should already have your CV infront of them. Dazzle them with your wit, charm and confident demeanor.

When I've been interviewing people, only the desperate and feeble seem to have to pull out bits of paper almost as if its supplementary evidence in case I/we don't believe them!

I kind of think that, too. A recent interviewee pulled out examples of stuff he'd done at his current client. He hadn't removed any of the company sensitive stuff, and I spotted a spelling mistake before it was handed over from upside down (the doc, not me).

Just make sure you are well prepped. Business card isn't a necessity.
Good suit, good shoes, not too much make-up or perfume (last thing you want is them gasping for air if you have summat strong on). Non descript handbag.

            Good luck!

Not sure about this, I think it always looks a bit poor when the interviewee doesn't even take a few notes. If I offer them the gig, they should be reading up on stuff before they start.

Would depend on the type of role. I've not had a single contract which has required me to read up on anything before hand.

Yeah I think I can say "me too". Certainly for interviews. Being able to recall my CV and elaborate from memory probably makes them believe I'm telling the truth.

I never bother with business cards if it's through an agency as the client has all the contact details they need from my CV or agent.

If it's more a meeting than an interview then a notepad and pen is all I take.

Depends how good one's memory is. I tend to memorise any important aspects or info gleaned from the client's website etc.

Also easier to recall from memory than search through notes.

If my memory was tulipe I may take some notes to prove I knew what I couldn't remember.
