Just friggin buy the £70K M3 on finance and pay back £100K and then in 3 years sell it back to the dealer for £20K, where upon I'll pick it up for £25K.

Well, we're singing from the same song sheet. I'd love one, had an old 109 county in the 80'd and loved it, if you didn't mind pootling along sawing at the wheel, but as for going anywhere, with anything, couldn't, and still can't, be bettered.
