I'm not actually going to live there. I'm hoping the threat of it will convince her to move to Germany. I'll show her your posts and say "look what sort of people we'll have to live next to" and she'll be on the plane like a shot. While you're waiting, read the free novel we sent you. It's a Spanish story about a guy named 'Manual.' -
I don't blame you. I guess if you're an impecunious renter, Germany is much cheaper.Originally posted by doodab View PostI'm not actually going to live there. I'm hoping the threat of it will convince her to move to Germany.
It'd cost you about £6K a month to rent somewhere decent in Wandsworth. This one is not too far from me:
5 bedroom property to rent in Trinity Road, London SW18 - 15309154 - ZooplaHard Brexit now!

And the palm trees; wrong, very wrong indeed.
Could be very smart with major redecoration. And what exactly is wrong with an "ad hominem" argument? Dodgy Agent, 16-5-2014Comment

South? I thought you were rich?Originally posted by sasguru View PostThey've even made blue lanes for them here in S. London...
Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave JohnsonComment

Just out of interest, as a permie, why did you join a site for contractors? While you're waiting, read the free novel we sent you. It's a Spanish story about a guy named 'Manual.'Comment

A chap could feel embarassed to explain why he doesn't want to rent or buy a house like that, especially if the lady of the house is present; 'I'm terribly sorry, it's a beautiful house and the price is just about right, but I'm not particularly keen on the decorations and the palm trees'. Could be tricky to explain without thoroughly offending the people who've obviously put a great deal of effort into presenting the house.Originally posted by sasguru View PostIndeed, the local residents assoc. must have dropped their guard a tad.

Perhaps it's easier to just be a bit more plebby and just say 'nice house, decoration was done by a chav, no thanks', but it's not my way.And what exactly is wrong with an "ad hominem" argument? Dodgy Agent, 16-5-2014Comment

Completely agree ....Originally posted by sasguru View PostSome completely arrogant and thick koonts with a sense of entitlement and some of them deserve to have an accident because of their crass stupidity.
They've even made blue lanes for them here in S. London and still the cretins insist on riding in mobs in the middle of the road.
But be careful, the last time someone (me) called them arrogant koonts who cycle in the middle of the road, even though they have an entire cycle lane, then have the cheek to whine when they get run over, that person got banned.
God damn cyclists. The 99.99% of idiotic ones give the rest a bad rep. If the nitwits dont want to be run over and killed, perhaps they should start obeying the highway code and keeping in their own lane. I have no sympathy for 99.99% of them.Comment
