Last couple of days I have seen a few really stupid cyclists.

One who pulled away from lights swerving right into my path.

But the one that really annoyed me was coming over Vauxhall Bridge. The traffic was pulling away so I waited behind a bus at the back of the queue - it was only a couple of seconds. Someone I had just overtaken(so really slow) tried to get past the bus as it was moving off. Then swore alot as if the bus could hear him. Of course he was aged about 50 and really out of condition. I wonder if he will get run over before he has a heart attack?

Anyone that goes up the inside of a bus as it is pulling off is asking to get turned into jam, especially at a junction.

A lot of new riders assume that because they drive a car in London they know how to ride a bike, even riding a motorcylce doesnt really prepare you for cycling in London traffic. Rather than just shaking your head and riding off, try having a word with people who do this, especially if they are obviously not experienced riders. You could end up saving their life.

I think it's a general problem with people not being considerate, whether cycling, driving or walking the average British person is a tosser. It's a nation of inconsiderate selfish tossers. Thank **** I am leaving soon.

In this case it was the outside of a bus which was already going slightly right. 3 lanes of traffic. So its the same net effect as what you said.

I have a friend(shock!) who has had a word with a couple of cyclists. One ignored him, one got abusive. But you are right! I might give it a try next time. I have seen a few accidents(or the aftermarth) recently and I always find it very upsetting.

I suppose I will get my face punched in for my trouble.....

Over the last couple of weeks I have offered 'corrective' advice to a couple fellow cyclists, mainly about their position - on the whole they have been grateful but I have been avoiding the peleton routes.

The main problem is communication - they take the tube 'talk to no-one' mentality. On the bike its the opposite, the more eye contact, signalling and verbal communication you can give I find people respond positively. Chick on a bike flashes a smile, they are easily pleased

Massive increase on risk takers though. Am hoping as the evenings darken they drift back onto public transport. Actually look forward to rain now, keeps the Boris Numpties away.

I was trying to save the planet by recycling threads. And I searched for threads with cyclists in - there were quite a few to choose from.

But I am upset at being insulted - I am flouncing off to the counting thread to sulk for a while....

I tried flashing a smile going through Camberwell recently - I nearly got beaten up!
