Anyone know what those people who want to talk to you are up to? I always say no thanks, but am curious to know about the gambit. Anyone seen them?

It's usually normal looking young people standing in the street (young women usually), holding a clip board. They greet you pleasantly and try to spark up conversation. I assume they want my money at the end of the day and say no thanks.

Maybe I'll just have to talk to one and then say no.

If they limited it to 4 or 5 questions they would probably get a lot more people willing to stop and answer them
And they don't have to ask everyone the same 4 or 5 questions!

You can hold a tin and allow people to put money in it. If you rattle it that is begging. If I am in a good mood I will point this out to them. If I am having a bad day I will just ring the police and have them arrested or removed.

Aye, she's moved to Glasgow, along with the Romanian granny with the accordian, the Romanian granny with the two stringed violin and the Romanian granny with the torn Starbucks cup. They all seem to have the same green anorak and flowery headscarf too. I thought Romanians were supposed to need work permits to come here ? Don't tell me one string guitarists and two string violinists are on the 'shortage' list ????
