I heard Suity used to be scared of John, in the Janet and John books. He used to think he was staring at him funny.Originally posted by sasguru View PostDitto.
Swallows and Amazons
Enid Blyton
Read Great Expectations at 9 and remember being scared by the opening graveyard scene - a sign Of Dickens genius.
Anyone remember a series of book featuring Jon and Penny Warrender and set in Shropshire during the war? What happens in General, stays in General. You know what they say about assumptions!Comment

How old is "as a kid".
Read all the childrens classics early. Kidnapped, Gulliver, Crusoe, Treasure Island, Last of the Mohicans et al.
Moved on to Swallows and Amazons and the like. Enjoyed Shardik.
Was well into Sherlock Holmes at an early age.
Tolkein then on to Sci Fi.
Yes, a healthy amount of porn.
Read so many and the age I was when I did is a bit of a blur now. Still read a lot though.Just saying like.
where there's chaos, there's cash !
I could agree with you, but then we would both be wrong!

You see SB, if you had read more as a kid your life might have amounted to much more than rear-echelon potato peeler in the army followed by a dead end poorly-paid job.Originally posted by shaunbhoy View PostFTFYHard Brexit now!

Douglas Hill - Wikipedia, the free encyclopediaOriginally posted by Spacecadet View PostThere was a science fiction author I read when I was a kid and I can never remember his name or find his books on google.
One series of books was about some sort of space soldier who becomes almost invincible after some mysterious people replace his skeleton with an extremely strong metal
The other series was about a bunch of kids travelling across a succession of alien planetsAnd the lord said unto John; "come forth and receive eternal life." But John came fifth and won a toaster.Comment

I enjoyed reading some Judy Blume books in my early to mid teens which were full of sexual references, when I was trying to figure out what my cock was for
