I read the dictionary at aged 8 and transcribed out all of the different Greek/Roman/Norse/Christian gods, devils, creatures etc etc

I then went on to play D&D later on.

            +1 (but in English)

Enjoyed most things Enid Blyton, Arthur Ransome, C S Lewis, Rumer Godden and anything I could get my mitts on really, except the Hobbit. It's the only book I can remember not finishing.

When I was quite young I read the Jennings and Darbyshire books by Anthony Buckeridge. When I got a bit older, I read all Spike Milligan's books, his war memoirs are an awesome read.

The 'William' books, all the classics - Tom Brown's Schooldays, Robinson Crusoe etc. Moved on the the James Bond books accompanied by any sci-fi I could get my hands on. Borrowed my father's library card to get access to decent non-fiction especially astronomy and general science books.

That's him! Sadly, I don't recognise many of the book front cover illustrations.
