Hard to enforce membership in compulsory organization during *war* in *Germany*?
The point is that just like membership in some compulsory Soviet organisations like pioneers (which I was a member) can't be taken against bloody children.
Now SS was voluntary for most part of war even though in later years they also used conscription for military units.Comment

If it wasn't for Germany, we'd be speaking American now.

There's a dozen more. Americanisms are used in British media all the time, the second washington spouts a new phrase it's common place in the UK.

My missus wasn't a pioneer but she went on the summer camps! Her ex-bf was in it she's telling me, but that was at the fall of the SU.
But the point I was trying to make is the indoctrination was there, on German and Soviet sides, I've even got my missus' mum's sniper badge here, she had a sniper qualification at only just over school age...
She was born in 1956.Comment

Clockwork Orange anyone? Burgess thought that the CCCP would win the cold war, and predicated British slang would be full of Russian-isms such as 'horrorshow=khorosho=good' and 'droogs=dryuzhya=friends'.Originally posted by scooterscot View PostYou already do:
