Time zones. Bloody pain in the arse. Wouldn't it be better if everyone in the world slept at the same time?

Solution. Giant mirrors in space to reflect the Sun's light so that it is daylight everywhere 24 hrs a day. No more dark nights and warmer too.

Then we can all go to sleep at the same time!

One of my better ideas I reckon.

China did that already - the entire country is one time zone when there should be 5 hours difference between east and west

Tyre manufacturers should make the top x mm of the tyre rubber black and the remainder red, so when a tyre wears down to its limit (or preferably just before) the red shows through.

Queues, they are not all they are cracked up to be. And the fast one you move into always ends up faster than the one you move out of.

my solution - easy. Build a dummy lane on all motorways, and a dummy checkout in all supermarkets. Populates them with robots that are programmed to move slightly slower than the slowest queue

Everyone will feel much better and the economy will boom due to the 'feel good factor' and the deficit will be gone in no time

Why not include a special 'nattering and chattering' desk in all supermarkets and shops so that OAPs can chat away to their hearts' content instead of wasting everybody's time nattering about the weather and asking about the special offers when other people want to pay and leave?

How about a special 'search for your purse' employee who will rummage around in ladies' handbags to find their purse before they arrive at the till and waste everyone's time looking for it, even though they knew before entering the shop that they'd be asked for money when they leave?

Savings accumulator.

Savings accounts pay interest including the day the amount was withdrawn, even if it was first thing in the morning.

So have an automated deposit and withdrawal system that moves your money around many accounts each day to get multiple interest on the same amount for the same day.

Men buy those bloody lottery tickets or scratch cards or whatever it is that means you're waiting for 10 minutes while trying to work out how the heck the shop makes money on transaction that are so time intensive, though.
