What are the chances of making money from developing iPhone apps?

NickFitz does this kind of thing.
Not sure how much of a profit he's made from it though.
I think you have to jump through a few hoops to get on Apple's dev list. If you're not already an Apple fanboi have you considered creating apps for Android?"I can put any old tat in my sig, put quotes around it and attribute to someone of whom I've heard, to make it sound true."

I know a contractor doing it an an IB.
I think the boat has pretty much sailed for selling apps although there will be the exception.Comment

Making some money is relatively easy.
Whether you can make the same amount of money compared to "traditional" contracting activities (whatever that is) - that's a whole different thing.Comment

You can make an absolute fortune. I've made £46 profit from my Android apps in only 3 months, that's probably almost 12p an hour.bloggoth

I imagine apps are like websites in that you can develop something great but it's getting it in front of people that makes all the difference to profit.
Come up with an interesting idea, develop the app, then go on Dragon's Den for the exposure. Accept any offers if you're willing to give away 30-50%.Feist - 1234. One camera, one take, no editing. Superb. How they did it
