    Nigel Farage

    As a dutiful UKIP member I'm off to hear Nigel Farage speak in Eastleigh this evening as it's just down the road from me (and I got sent free tickets).

    I'm nearly 50 and have never been to a political meeting before. Anyone care to offer their experiences?
    ...my quagmire of greed....my cesspit of laziness and unfairness....all I am doing is sticking two fingers up at nurses, doctors and other hard working employed professionals...

      Anyone else think he looks like Kiki the Frog from Hector's House?

        A spare set of shoes to throw would be better
        How fortunate for governments that the people they administer don't think

          What you can expect is exactly the same as many other politicians can offer you;

          - somebody else is to blame for all your troubles (e.g. EU, illegal immigrants, mooslims, 'the left', 'the rich' etc)
          - I have the solution to all of these problems, so vote for me!
          - inevitable disappointment when said politician later turns out to be at best a charlatan or at worst a criminal
          And what exactly is wrong with an "ad hominem" argument? Dodgy Agent, 16-5-2014

            Maybe because you don't understand politics and the fact that you're a UKIP fan might confirm this.
            <Insert idea here> will never be adopted because the politicians are in the pockets of the banks!

              Actually it was rather good.

              He stood up, went on for half an hour speaking lots of common sense, took some questions, spoke more common sense. Went home.

                I keep reading books about politics and British history and have done for the past 20-30 years. What a shame none of it appears to have stuck....!

                  When you say commone sense, do you actually mean paranoid xenophobic rambling?

                    Absolutely not. He's got a German missus for a start.
