The last time I went to McD in Germany was for a breakfast, which wasn't bad. The coffee was pleasant and as opposed to the normal stuff here, of the strength to drink plenty without getting blasted. Refills were either free or just a few cents.

The coffee isn't bad and nor are some of the cakes. In fact they're becoming more and more popular here to the extent that they're converting all McD's into the Cafe version.

In Oz, your MaccyD's comes with a thick slice of beetroot. Very nice.

Do they serve milkshakes too, like in civilised countries?

I loath beetroot with a passion. I expect it improves a PlasticMac though!

These days most places don't ask how you want your burger cooked - if it's a fresh minced steak burger I always like mine charred on the outside and raw in the middle - the French way.

The problem with Gourmet Burger Kitchen is that they don't do any spicy toppings at all. I really like my burgers with chilli - I make them at home with plenty of fresh chopped chilli mixed in with the mince then normally use the Nando's extra hot sauce as relish.

                      .
I have noticed that about burger places, I like mine done the same as yours nice and pink in the middle. It was a case your would get asked all the time how you'd like your burgers, these days they are mullered to death
