I'm amazed they're allowed to get away with it.

The Daily Mail, I mean; if you go and have a look on Google Maps and StreetView you'll find the house is some way away from the gas works (which is due for demolition) and appears to look out over the adjacent fields towards some low hills.

I once went to view a house that on paper looked gorgeous. And indeed it was a beautiful period property in good nick in a rural setting.

It was however about 200 yards from one of the worst council estates in the county, the sort where it was rumoured that even Alsatians went in pairs.

Some unfortunate chap in the navy had bought it unseen and whoever viewed it on his behalf had been taken the respectable and scenic route to see it.

My worst estate agent story: when my house was up for sale (as was most of the street), I had a look in the selling agent's office to see what prices my neighbours were asking. A bag of slime crept up behind me and told me not to buy my own house "unless I liked the smell of curry next door". I still don't know how I managed to avoid decking the git on the spot. I should have taken them to the cleaners over that one, but frankly I just wanted shut of the place.

Have you noticed that they have covered up the neighbour's window with some "greenery" !!

And that's arguably the worst part of it - a bit of gardening work and the lawn could look as per the doctored picture.

But the neighbours view is something that cannot be "fixed" - placing a bit of "greenery" would only block the view to where the camera was positioned - not the rest of the garden.
