Lack of motivation.

    Lack of motivation.

I hate days/week like this. I have two project deliverables, both for tomorrow. I have had plenty of time to do both during the week and have been working on them, but just couldn't get motivated.

Did a half day developing(which isn't required for a month), business model for energy consumption(which has bugger all with clientco), load of share dealing.

Still going to take at least 8 hours of concentrated effort but frankly I just can't get any motivation to complete two boring ******* documents that actually require me to think.

This is the bit I hate about working for other people.

I'm going to the pub for a few pints, hopefully I will be suitably motivated to pull a late nighter. How do others deal with completing the boring stuff?

I've always had my own business on the side I could work in.

      I need a new Plan B. I don't like working for people.

If it is a really mind-numbing task I do the legwork well in advance, then finish it in an all-nighter. I don't go to the pub first though.

Just get them out of the way; then you can get on with that all-important document you send in each week/month/whatever.

I've spent most of my 'career' manipulating it so I don't have that crap to do. That's how I ended up getting fired and moving from part-time to free time freelancing/contracting in the first place.

When I used to work from home for long periods I got incredibly demotivated. What I used to do was deliberately not do any work at all Monday through Wednesday That forced me to work really hard on Thursday so I had something to show for Friday morning's telephone conference (or get canned).

That was the only way I would ever get off my @rse.
...my quagmire of greed....my cesspit of laziness and unfairness....all I am doing is sticking two fingers up at nurses, doctors and other hard working employed professionals...
