    Not booked it yet as I'll be using airmiles. I was just trying to work out why they still want +€900 for myself and Mrs PL even when using miles.

    Would contact trailfinders pronto and start my journey from AMS. Easyjet or something out to AMS. Only fly out of the UK long haul if you've got bottomless pockets.

      Ah, this is sort of the point.

      I like to use KLM because;

      a) the airport is 15mins from my house. Gatwick is about 4hrs of pain away.
      b) I have uber status and so can lord over the proles at the airport.
      c) I can use airmiles.
      d) I can take 40Kg of luggage (diving kit)

      The reason for the OP was just my amazement at the number/cost of surcharges.

          What did you add to get it to that? Adding a case is only about £20-£25 and their speedy boarding is about £10 isn't it?

              out of all these charges it would seem the fuel surcharge is the biggest one.

              I mean you buy a ticket for any other form of transport and it includes the cost of the fuel to drive the bus/train whatever.

              seems that they are just doing this to get punters to the website based on cheap flights - but ultimately when you added in all the 'compulsory extras' the tickets cost more - which should be illegal imho as you cannot actual buy a ticket which is worth anything for the advertised price.

              but hey ho!

                Because your starting point is the UK. Try Dublin => AMS => Bonnaire and you'll notice the difference.

                  Which is trying to do a complaint about that and credit and debit card payment charges but I won't hold my breath.
