To be fair how much of that was down to her? Not that much I'd say..... one of the big deals was for the backpack/car seat thing that really sold itself and unless you made a total hash of the pitch then the team with that product was always going to win. Much like the baby grow thing that changed colour last year when Liz pitched it and made a massive sale. -
I accept all that, but the point is this.Originally posted by Mr.Whippy View PostTo be fair how much of that was down to her? After 10 weeks it cannot be coincidence that Helen has been on the winning team every week bar one, and Tom has been on the losers every week bar one.
Therefore, the only realistic alternative to sacking Melody would have been sacking Tom, so it's weird for those pundits to say "Tom should make the final but he should also be sacked."Comment

The big one was the biscuit order for 800k units - but didn't Jim do that pitch and promise massive TV advertising campaigns and other stuff he probably didn't have budget for?Originally posted by Mr.Whippy View PostTo be fair how much of that was down to her? Still I enjoyed the Helen vs Melody show - and I was glad that Tom got to stick the boot in to her as well

Sugar said last night that Tom was 'right up his street' and now he proved he can sell as well. I think when it comes to someone he can 'mould' Tom could be considered a contender.Originally posted by Doggy Styles View PostI accept all that, but the point is this.

I agree, Helen is streets ahead of the rest and really should win. I didn't say she wasn't the best candidate just that she wasn't the only reason for that large order for car seats as I expect even Susan couldn't have messed that up........... but then again.......Originally posted by Doggy Styles View PostI accept all that, but the point is this.

Just been looking through the 'where are they now' thread on the DT site. No one seems to have set the world alight from previous series with a few earning a few bob on the back of the prog as they slide down the z-list (think Ricky Gervais in the Office 2nd series doing personal app at a nightclub).
Ain't as easy as it looks this business stuff !Comment

To be fair yesterday annoying Susan together with Tom and Jim showed that they could actually sell tulip to the general public. She also showed she had an eye for what sells i.e. shiny bracelets to females.Originally posted by Mr.Whippy View PostI agree, Helen is streets ahead of the rest and really should win. Helen was busy swanning of going to wholesalers who were closed, Natasha was shown doing f*** all, and Melody was just annoying everyone on her team and choosing the wrong products. Neither of the team leaders or Helen showed they understood the task."You’re just a bad memory who doesn’t know when to go away" JRComment

Yeah Helen didn't have the best week I'd agree.... but over the course of the last 9 or 10 weeks she's stood above the rest. Susan did well and does seem to be improving a bit, whereas Natasha is probably the most consistent of them all.... she's been f'ing useless every week. And trying to blame Susan because she didn't understand the task?Originally posted by SueEllen View PostTo be fair yesterday annoying Susan together with Tom and Jim showed that they could actually sell tulip to the general public. On the evidence so far, with the odd abberation:Originally posted by SueEllen View PostTo be fair yesterday annoying Susan together with Tom and Jim showed that they could actually sell tulip to the general public. She also showed she had an eye for what sells i.e. shiny bracelets to females.

- Susan is a fast learner
- Jim is good at sales and marketing
- Tom is sensible and likeable
- Helen is competent
- Natasha is out of her depth

Seems a good assessment to me.Originally posted by Doggy Styles View PostOn the evidence so far, with the odd abberation:

I'm not sure Helen will win this. If it was like the last series and Sugar was looking for an employee then she would win hands down against that lot, but Sugar is looking for a business partner. I think has a very good shot at winning this bizarrely.Beer
