If only. If that was a typical schools programme, Britain would be leading the world in every field of scientific research instead of chucking quazillions of pounds at failed banks.

The truth is it isn't, and that's what makes this kind of TV programme necessary and welcome, even if some people have issues with Professor Cox's facial expressions.

No issues with Cox's delivery and I liked his obvious enthusiasm but ten minutes of real information spread out over an hour and half the world...

How odd.

The extended edition of the 700th Sky at Night was a good deal more interesting than the edited version that went out on Sunday night.

They seemed to have chopped out all the good bits from the shorter version.

Now you tell us. I didn't realise Sir Patrick Moore was housebound now, very sad, he was looking rather portly at the beginning of the edited version.

It's repeated on Tuesday evenings on BBC4 these days.

And he doesn't look (or sound) very well at all.

I like him, he’s good PR for Physics especially when it encourages females into thinking about the subject.
Also He may one day reveal the secret to everlasting youth!

wouldn't have been so bad if the programme was interesting, but like all modern science documentaries it was aimed firmly at 5 year olds.
