Keep it in May. I prefer having a Socialist holiday to a Nationalist one.

If we need to have non-billable days then they should be more spread out during the year."You’re just a bad memory who doesn’t know when to go away" JRComment

Me too, but the great thing about May Day is that it should appeal to everyone, because of his traditional roots as a spring festival.Originally posted by thunderlizard View PostKeep it in May. I prefer having a Socialist holiday to a Nationalist one.Comment

Does anybody care what the bank holiday represents? To most people it's just a day off (or a 20% tax for that week for us). Better to spread them out through the year.Originally posted by Old Greg View PostMe too, but the great thing about May Day is that it should appeal to everyone, because of his traditional roots as a spring festival. Will work inside IR35. I think there has always been a streak in the Tory party that sees this as a socialist holiday, which must be removed. That's who cares!Originally posted by VectraMan View PostDoes anybody care what the bank holiday represents? To most people it's just a day off (or a 20% tax for that week for us). Anyway, I'm no worse off for a bank holiday.Comment

Later holiday is preferable.
Why not tie up with thanksgiving?
It would be good for business as the septics are closed anyway and an extra shopping day for Xmas. Not sure what excuse we could use.
Or we could make it 4th of July to celebrate closing our Washington tax office.Comment

Better still, why not change the length of every month to have 28 days.
Make filling in my accounting spreadsheets so much simpler

As its my birthday on St Georges Day, I vote for that.
It would also cheese off anyone who is not English!
Trafalgar Day in October - would cheese off the French & Spanish
Battle of Britain Day in September - annoy the Germans
What other nations can we upset
