I don't observe them and frequently fail to notice them apart from those attached to seasonal holidays.

If they are trying to do this to promote tourism then a bank holiday in Autumn isn't going to help tourism in the UK, as they keep telling us it will.

Certainly haven't missed the halloween bank holiday in the oul sod, nice to have the double whammy in May over here.

Alas and alack it is one less invoicing day, but sometimes it is nice to have the odd day off.

As its my birthday on St Georges Day, I vote for that.

It would also cheese off anyone who is not English!

Trafalgar Day in October - would cheese off the French & Spanish

Battle of Britain Day in September - annoy the Germans

What other nations can we upset

Better still, why not change the length of every month to have 28 days.

Make filling in my accounting spreadsheets so much simpler

    Later holiday is preferable.
Why not tie up with thanksgiving?

It would be good for business as the septics are closed anyway and an extra shopping day for Xmas. Not sure what excuse we could use.

Or we could make it 4th of July to celebrate closing our Washington tax office.

I think there has always been a streak in the Tory party that sees this as a socialist holiday, which must be removed. That's who cares!

Anyway, I'm no worse off for a bank holiday.

If we need to have non-billable days then they should be more spread out during the year.
