So actually, what's needed is a group of parents who club together and form some club with their kids, perhaps aligned to the scouts or cadets, and thereby teach their kids about initiative, organisation and getting things done.

Stop it Mich, you're being terribly middle class about this.

Not to mention, the NE needs its diversity officers
Management in local authorities earn around £80k, senior management £120k and executives £180 to £250k. Most of their jobs are secure,.

I've written England off already. They're playing against 16 men, one of them a New Zealander with a whistle.

You really are ignorant of the poorer areas of the country. Someone has to create those jobs, it's not an inexhaustible supply.

I bet there aren't many of those round here. Plus I bet you made those numbers up or exaggerated for effect. According to the BBC less than 200 civil servants in the whole country earn more than the PM's £140k. BBC News - Government reveals 172 civil servants earn more than PM

Not ignorant, just fed up of bailing out the feckless. I understand that people like you would love for the country to keep borrowing money from Asia to keep these non productive people in flat screen tvs and big macs, unfortunately that is no longer an option. You need to wake up to that fact, times have changed buddy.

I am specifically thinking of diversity officers, climate change officers and a whole legion of waste of space outreach workers.

I only raise the point because I can't help think that there is some political motivation behind these cuts - make it hurt so it reflects badly on the Tories.
They should stop letting anyone from Europe just come across the border and work.

That will sort out the deficits
