I left hand was cut in two pieces across the diagonal with a circular saw. Nearly snuffed it due to blood loss. I was 7/8. I've been giving blood back ever since.

Very pretty major, but can they fight?"Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience". Mark TwainComment

Actually, those bodybuilders are often not really as strong as they look as they haven't developed intermuscular coordination or explosive power.Originally posted by TimberWolf View PostI was never massive, though I used to like lifting heavy things. And what exactly is wrong with an "ad hominem" argument? Doesn't lifting heavy weights require explosive power? Or are you differentiating between weight lifters and body-builders?Originally posted by Mich the Tester View PostActually, those bodybuilders are often not really as strong as they look as they haven't developed intermuscular coordination or explosive power.

I'd agree with that. I got pretty big in my early 20s. About 240lbs solid. Lots of nice looking muscle. Legs were strong 500lb plus squats, 700 on incline but crap strength on arms / bench 150lbs. Had problems with tendons. Looked good but no real power.Originally posted by Mich the Tester View PostActually, those bodybuilders are often not really as strong as they look as they haven't developed intermuscular coordination or explosive power. What happens in General, stays in General. You know what they say about assumptions!Comment

The body builders lift fairly hefty weights several times until complete exhaustion with extreme acidosis and microtears, whereas the weightlifters will lift bloody huge weights once or twice but remain within the ATP system, working explosively. Actually weightlifting (as opposed to powerlifting) is as much about speed and technique as strength.Originally posted by d000hg View PostYou can post under "best photo" section then...

The veins bulge up because their blood pressure rises with the exercise, and because many of them take drugs that make their skin thinner. And what exactly is wrong with an "ad hominem" argument? Dodgy Agent, 16-5-2014Comment

No real illnesses or accidents. well lots of accidents but I was always rock solid, so things bounced off me.
I did get shot between the eyes when I was about 14, by a .22.
It knocked me out and the pellet is still lodged there, above my right eye. I'll give you a feel at the next CUK do
