I only started contracting in December, found the funding (government) had been pulled for project, was benched for 1 day before client called me back in for a renewed 6 month contract. Now in 'til July thankfully. By the time I left the building for the bench, I had 3 interviews lined up - mostly on the basis of being flexible in respect of location - so I definitely concur with Churchill.
I have kids, and time with them features high on my list of priorities as you would imagine, but in this era of globalization etc etc, I don't see that I have much of a choice as regards travel. After all, if I don't make the effort, somebody from China or India or Korea or Vietnam or wherever will!Comment

Tom, I've got a great new idea for a (contractors) gameshow. It's gonna be a winner.
All you need is three contractors, an agent and a bird with big tits.
It's called 'Boom or Bench'. DMAX and Dave are interested.
Cheers,

We're going it alone as the end client still needs the system. In contract until the beginning of July.
Practically perfect in every way....there's a time and (more importantly) a place for malarkey.
