I think you'll find it's 8.99 recurring. But don't worry I know women don't worry about those last few pennies...

IT didn't exist when I was at school. How many A level students go on to study IT at college or university or even have a career?

Should be a poll on this but how many of you studied IT at all? I did a degree in astronomy, research in aerodynamics (hypersonics), and by accident ended up in IT.

Let me guess - are you a girl?
        That would require

        10000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 00000000000000 candidates. Unlikely.

I did IT at school in 1985/1986. Did a computing A-Level in 1987.

I appreciate that in 1887 you may have struggled Cliphead.

Technically the same as 8.9 recurring. Which would require an infinite number of candidates. Impossible.

Everything is possible in math - don't you have some abstract imagination or something?

That's a valid point. But I think IT is much more widely available now. I also ended up in IT, but went on to study at college. The figure is still representative of the number of women interested in studying IT.

Left school in 1976, no computers around then. By '87 was doing rather well in IT

                    I didn't do IT A-Levels either.

In fact the only woman I know with an A Level in Computer Science went on to study a Business degree and become an accountant.

The guys I studied with who went on to do Computer Science degrees didn't do A Level Computer Science either.

Lots of women decide to study IT as mature students so don't need A Levels at all, or come into the profession via other degrees. I've worked with lots of Maths graduates.
