I think you'll find it's 8.99 recurring. But don't worry I know women don't worry about those last few pennies...What happens in General, stays in General. You know what they say about assumptions! -
IT didn't exist when I was at school. How many A level students go on to study IT at college or university or even have a career?
Should be a poll on this but how many of you studied IT at all? I did a degree in astronomy, research in aerodynamics (hypersonics), and by accident ended up in IT.Comment

Technically the same as 8.9 recurring. Which would require an infinite number of candidates. Impossible.Originally posted by MarillionFan View PostI think you'll find it's 8.99 recurring. But don't worry I know women don't worry about those last few pennies...Comment

Everything is possible in math - don't you have some abstract imagination or something?Originally posted by k2p2 View PostTechnically the same as 8.9 recurring. Which would require an infinite number of candidates. Impossible.

That's a valid point. But I think IT is much more widely available now. I also ended up in IT, but went on to study at college. The figure is still representative of the number of women interested in studying IT.Originally posted by Cliphead View PostIT didn't exist when I was at school. I didn't do IT A-Levels either.Originally posted by MarillionFan View PostI did IT at school in 1985/1986. Did a computing A-Level in 1987.
In fact the only woman I know with an A Level in Computer Science went on to study a Business degree and become an accountant.
The guys I studied with who went on to do Computer Science degrees didn't do A Level Computer Science either."You’re just a bad memory who doesn’t know when to go away" JRComment

Lots of women decide to study IT as mature students so don't need A Levels at all, or come into the profession via other degrees. I've worked with lots of Maths graduates.Originally posted by k2p2 View PostThat's a valid point. But I think IT is much more widely available now.
