England will hope to last until tea tomorrow, but even if they don't they'll be 400+ runs out of sight on first innings.
That would leave the Aussies seven or eight sessions to survive to keep the Ashes alive.Comment

On the other hand, if Australia can roll over the last five wickets for another 30, they'd have nearly all the third day and the fourth days to score 600, set England 225 or so on the fifth and last day, and blast us out for a miraculous victory.

I feel sorry for old Punter.
With retirement of
Hayden,Warne,McGrath etc it's become obvious that Ponting does not have a clue. He was lucky to be captain of one of the best Aussie sides ever, but now how he struggles. What happens in General, stays in General. You know what they say about assumptions!Comment

Any captain would struggle with the current players at his disposal. How many of them would get into the England team? One at most.Originally posted by MarillionFan View PostI feel sorry for old Punter.

That must be deeply frustrating for Punter, who can't say anything but just struggle on.Comment

Poor man. I think he's on the edge of a breakdown*.
