So let's just see if I am getting you here. A referee is caught lying, and it transpires that his boss knew about the lie and went on national radio to further promote the lie. He also bullied the linesman involved to try and get him to agree to promoting this lie, to the extent where the linesman resigned citing this bullying and gave the real story to the national press.
Subsequently Celtic make the case that having been caught lying, and plotting to cover up this lie with the approval and complicity of his boss, McDonald's and Dallas's positions were untenable.
And yet in your eyes Celtic are the problem here?

Just Celtic with the problems eh?

Dougie MacDonald the cheat (merged threads) - Jambos Kickback - Page 8

A personal favourite is this quote from a disgruntled Jambo........

I am not sure whether this is cheating or just very bad refereeing by someone who thinks he is the most important person on the pitch.
Oh aye...............it is all "Celtic's" doing this strike.

      Only in Scotland!

Nope, not my opinion, the former head of world refereeing George Cumming. However, according to you he's a bigot for thinking this.

Scottish FA must support its referees | George Cumming

Who cares he's a Motherwell fan though eh, I mean if he's no with you, he must be against you.
"I hope Celtic realise that, if their team is good enough, they will win. If they're not good enough, they'll not win - and they can't look at anybody else, whether it is referees or any other influence." - Walter Smith

You set 'em up, I'll knock 'em down!

I was in charge of refereeing in Scotland for nearly 13 years and it gives me no pleasure to see the present strike action by the top Scottish referees.

That is not to say I do not support them. I agree that action had to be taken.

I think the attacks on them have been excessive and are part of a much bigger agenda.

In my time at SFA I knew I could rely on the support of my two General Secretaries, Ernie Walker and Jim Farry, not just behind closed doors but also publically.
So what you are saying is that the guy that used to do the job that Hugh Dallas was doing up until he got the bullet, has no major problems with Dallas and McDonald lying to a manager?

And he knew he could always rely on the support of Jim Farry behind closed doors? Aye I'll bet he could. Now that name rings a bell........oh yes.....here we are!

BBC News | Football | Farry sacked by SFA

          Gotta love this bit.........

Farry insisted he had done nothing wrong and had said he would not be resigning from his job
What a trooper. I'll bet he was a real rock of support for old "Gentleman George".
I expect that then, as now, disadvantaging Celtic was not seen as a punishable offence within the SFA.

Scotland v Italy in a crucial qualifying match for the Euro 2008 Championships. Scotland have to win to have any chance of qualifying.

Couple of minutes go and the game is tied 1 v 1, when the referee awards Italy a soft free kick close to the bye line halfway between the corner flag and the 18 yard box. Italy take the free kick and score from it. Italy go through, Scotland exit stage left.

Here is the outraged reaction from the laptop loyal:

“If it was a player making a terrible decision in a match, he may not play in the next match. UEFA have to ask if he should be in a game like this. He made a horrendous mistake and doesn’t deserve to be officiating at a high level” Alex McLeish (The Sun, 19 November 2007)

“I hope action is taken against the referee. We’ve been punsihed so why should he not be punished?” Lee McCulloch (Daily Express, 19 November 2007)

“You would not have seen a decision like that late free-kick on a public park” George Cumming (The Sun, 19
            November 2007)

“The foul on Alan Hutton by Giorgio Chiellini was an appalling mistake that could have been described as robbery and cheating. The assistant referee is only yards away from the incident and for the referee not to
over-rule him was incredible.” Craig Brown (Daily Record, 19 November 2007)

“We all accept that officials make honest mistakes. They have to decide instantly on ‘is it?’ or ‘isn’t it?’ ‘Did he or didn’t he?’. Jimenez did have these things to consider when he raised his flag. He had to decide whether Alan Hutton had been fouled or not. There was nothing else to consider - but he chose to invent one for himself. In my 30 years of refereeing I’ve never witnessed such a blatant deliberate error. It was no mistake. The big team
were going to get a little help.”
David Syme (The Sun, 19 November 2007)

The ref disallowed a good Italian goal in that game, allowed a Scottish one that was offside but was roundly condemned for awarding the Italians a free-kick, albeit a soft one, from which they scored the winner. If I remember correctly didn’t one Scottish fishwrapper (Sun or Record?) not actually print the referee’s home address?

Imagine the outrage if Celtic were to follow suit and print Dougie McDonald’s home address.

An interesting thing to notice about the words attributed in the papers to David Syme, an ex-referee who was involved in more than his share of controversial decisions that went against Celtic, is that there is such a thing as, ‘a deliberate error’. Maybe Davie should pipe up more often when the idea of ‘honest mistakes’ is being bandied about by the pundits.

And these hypocrites have the brass neck to castigate Celtic for criticising Referees that are palpably guilty of lying and deception!

How many of those names above have been calling for only Celtic to now be punished for questioning refereeing integrity?

Or even discuss it in a thread with a "for those interested" tag, in order that those "not interested" can keep their big snorkel-organs out of the way!!!!

You're not even discussing the referee strike anymore.

You've got two people with equally polarised views who won't agree.

                    It's not even a discussion, it's a slanging match.

You can't even respond to criticism without an insult, can you?

Your previous post was not a criticism, it was just a misguided observation. I felt it merited explanation.
