Much as I would have loved to play some part in getting shot of him, and for my part, he would effectively have been sunk from the moment that one of his former employees (Steven Craven) resigned due to his bullying, and blew the lid off his collusion in Dougie's "wee white lie", it was no doing of mine.
His demise was brought about by his own hand when he, at the very least, was involved in what the SFA Chief Cheeses have decided was effectively "conduct unbecoming". It may or may not have been the email alone, but I am sure the truth will out soon enough. Let us not forget, he did not resign......HE WAS SACKED!!!!
Good riddance, and let us hope that anyone else that is not dealing from a straight deck in the rotting corpse of corruption that is the SFA, gets flushed away in similar style.
Then we might get the level playing field that all teams should be seeking, but only Celtic seem to have the cojones to be fighting for.

This is not about a single incident. There are at least 3 already in the public domain.
Alleged bullying, improper use of company emails, and covering up lying (badly). And that is without even the potential "Match Report Fixing" allegation either.
The SFA has been a clusterfork for a while now, and it is time that somebody highlighted this and forced change.
Only one Team of all those affected seems to have grasped this fact.

Oh yeah, and don't read too much into my little poems. They are just a bit of fun.

McDonald’s tiny personal lie became enormous corporate failure
In the six weeks since Dougie McDonald decided Gary Hooper was not worthy of a penalty in a game Celtic eventually won anyway, I have never called for his dismissal. I can understand Celtic doing so, their manager was lied to, which is understandably emotive, but there was mitigation.

McDonald had just walked off a pitch after a game which was intensely competitive and won by a last minute goal. He also made the most public mistake of his career, live on international television, and was about to meet his assessor.

Lying in a professional context is disrespectful to whoever you are speaking to. It happens in everyday life, of course, but the lack of respect is always clear, which is why the injured party is likely to take offence.

McDonald held his hands up within two hours of the final whistle, his part in the entire episode was at an end.

The ball was now passed to the SFA. What started of a personal lie was about to become a corporate failing.

Had Hugh Dallas acknowledge the lie, or advised McDonald to do so to Neil Lennon, the issue would not have been worthy of six paragraphs of comment. McDonald would have been marked down for his general performance and Neil Lennon might have shrugged his shoulders and moved on, but the SFA, as a national body, would not have become embroiled in the issue.

Dallas sat on the lie which transferred ownership of it from McDonald to the SFA. It’s possible that no one else but Dallas and the Tannadice match officials even knew about the lie, but it was now a corporate responsibility matter.

This should have been the reason Dallas was ushered out the door, he is there to administer refereeing and made a very wrong call which brought the SFA into disrepute. I believe this was acknowledged by some inside the SFA and the subsequent leaks were a direct consequence.

What the SFA Referees Committee did next was inexplicable. I don’t want to overplay McDonald’s lie, as I said, there were mitigating circumstances, but it was still a lie and failure to administer any punishment brought the SFA into disrepute for the second time.

Notions like corporate responsibility, natural justice and being seen to do the right thing only matter to those who care how they are perceived and are ignored by those who think they are running some banana republic.

McDonald was a kind of victim, not an innocent victim, but a victim nonetheless. His lie exposed the utter shambles that the refereeing division in particular and the Scottish FA in general undoubtedly was.

He was denied the benefit of an appropriate punishment and, as a consequence, handed Celtic the high moral ground when asking for him to be removed.

The referees’ ‘strike’ made this clear.

‘You don’t respect us enough.’

‘But you lie, why don’t you understand honesty is important?’

An unintended consequence of the strike was to provide the SFAs critics time and opportunity to repeat the basic truths of the matter, a referee lied and there were no consequences. Can you imagine what would be said when the ‘Respect the Ref’ campaign got underway?

‘Respect? You lie without consequence.’

As I said, I didn’t call for McDonald’s head, but this is a corporate responsibility issue, and as every president should know, the buck stops on their desk. Mr Peat should go. He holds the corporate responsibility card and his performance last week, when his referee chief was under investigation for sending a sectarian email, a ref had lied and the Referee Committee failed to do what it is paid to do, is set to become a management lesson in what not to do.

We need a fresh page, free of sectarianism and incompetence.

THE Church of Scotland last night BACKED claims by a top Catholic that the Hugh Dallas Pope email row exposed widespread bigotry.
RC spokesman Peter Kearney said the sick net jibe allegedly sent by SFA refs' chief Dallas was just the "tip of the iceberg" of "deep and vicious" religious intolerance in Scotland.

Now Rev Ian Galloway, the Kirk's convener of the Church and Society Council, has backed his stance and said prejudice against Catholics has to stop.

Rev Galloway, 58, a minister at Gorbals Parish Church in Glasgow, said: "The Church of Scotland wants to see Scotland rid of every last vestige of sectarianism.

There is no place for it in our society. I am especially appalled by acts of violence carried out on my Catholic colleagues.

"There is no excuse for this - or for the attitudes that lead to it."

Mr Kearney last week called for Dallas to be sacked amid allegations he sent an email poking fun at Catholic priests' kid-abuse scandals.

The twisted message was said to show a child warning road sign with the words "The Pope is coming" below it.

Former whistler Dallas quit his post as SFA head of referee development on Friday over the storm, after the Catholic Church called for his axing if guilty of the allegations.

In the wake of Dallas's departure Mr Kearney blasted "anti-Catholic hostility".

He said: "Tasteless emails appear to be simply the tip of a disturbing iceberg of anti-Catholicism in Scottish society.

"I always thought that decisions evened themselves out over the course of the season and, if anything, the big teams got the calls against the smaller teams."
