Has the definition of "pithy" been revisited?

Maybe the attendances at your pathetic little provincial mob dropped when your yokel village got electricity, and you could get Take the High Road on the black and white TV in the Village Hall??
Save your embarrassment for yourself, you have much need for it.

Mind you, I always advised those visiting Jockshire to watch out for the evil, ugly, violent, blood-sucking parasites. The midges can be quite bad, too.

City boy? Hah. Poofs, hoors and junkies that's all Easter Road is good for sunshine. I bet you only go to the dump when either of the OF are in town.

Just pulled this off the 606 forum, very well put together argument:

This is my estimation of the current Celtic manager, the heirarchy within the club and what seems to be the majority of their fanbase.

Firstly it is beyond doubt that the statement released by George Peat was clearly aimed at Celtic, the words, " conspiracy theory " being the obvious clue. There is and has been for many years a pathological and insidious culture of blame emanating from the Celtic boardroom, staff and fanbase which in my opinion serves only to devalue and contaminate our national sport with baseless, unsubstantiated and indefensible slander.

The truth is that there is no conspiracy against Celtic - this reasoning is all too convenient in the barren years when Rangers are on top. Let me ask you this: Where was the Establishment when Gordon Strachan was Celtic manager?

The Celtic boss, who won six trophies in four years – three league titles, one Scottish Cup and two League Cups was one of only three Celtic managers to win three titles in a row - how can this be explained when according to all things Celtic there is an inherent system of refereeing that is against them, preventing them winning games and therefor winning league titles and cups. How can all this be explained? How could a system that is so corrupted in favour of Rangers have allowed Celtic to win all these accolades starting in 2005? How could these referees have allowed Celtic to win all these matches during the Strachan era?

And more importantly: Where were the howls of derision from the Celtic heirachy, staff and fans during this time with their concerns surrounding match officials?

The truth is this is a fantasy - a fantasy that has been created in the boardroom at Celtic Park which has infected the fanbase like a cancer which is now bringing the Scotish game into serious disrepute. This myth has been created to deflect attention away from failings on the park and in the boardroom. Celtic simply cannot accept that Rangers have been the better team over the past two seasons, and it must be particularly tormenting to them that this has been achieved by Rangers using a limited finacial budget.

To conclude I believe that Celtic have sullied the reputation of the Scotish game and in particular the dependability of our referees and in doing so deserve to be fined and docked points by the Scotish Football Association. Why should we allow this club to threaten the future of the Scotish game with their incessant undignified, offensive and baseless babble?
                  Highlighted bits are my favourites.

                    George Peat – Comedy Genius:

                    “The innuendo must stop…”

                    Reporter:

“Who are you talking about in particular George?”

                    GPCG:

                    “I’m not mentioning any names…”

                    Superb!
