Okay, having thought about this, I guess I should not have said I want to look cool. Being mid 30s, those days are probably past. However, the geeky consultant backpack wasn't fitting in with the rest of my image - bespoke suit\crombie, Jeffery-West shoes, etc. A garish crumpler bag probably won't enhance the look, but one of the more modest ones may just do the trick. I like to look good, what can I say.

You could always put it in a nice old leather briefcase. Preferably a really old worn out one, of the type used by provincial bank clerks in the 1940/50s.

Alternatively you could get a Crumpler bag with a 'cool' name like 'Pimp Party'. Talk about making monkeys out of your customers and them loving you for it - because they are just, like, so cool.

You've come right out the other side of the forest of irony and ended up in the desert of wrong.

I'll stick with my old faithful Targus leather laptop case, it's a shame they don't seem to make them any more.

I wouldn't carry 7/8ths of the ones people have linked.

Quite right bogey. An old leather briefcase is ideal for carrying your laptop, power supply, phone etc on the train/plane etc.

Much better than going for something specifically designed to do the job and protect the contents whilst still being comfortable to haul around. You should suggest the OP gets a bowler hat to keep his sandwiches under too.

Who cares what names they give them.

Some of us were more concerned with the quality of the product rather than the "cool" names. Forget the names, Crumpler bags are extremely well made and pretty much indestructible. I've had Targus/other bags in the past and found they're cheaper for a reason.... they don't last.

Another vote for crumpler. I've had mine for ages and its great. Wouldn't buy anything else now.

A crumpler Spanky Jones is on the Christmas list.

Oh, forgot to add earlier, I couldn't punch the cheeky Frenchman - as they are a potential client. And in general, I probably wouldn't hit someone just for taking the piss out of a bag
