Me too. No such thing as a dumb question when you are investigating something like that.

Undoubtedly. The salient difference being that in countries where the Police have the ability to tell the difference between their @rse and their elbow, the questions have some relevance to the enquiry in hand, and are not just cut and pasted from "Suspect Questioning for Dummies!"

What's wrong with answering, open, closed, probing, leading questions? Any one of these can lead to an avenue of investigation that might otherwise not have been explored. In my opinion she did herself nor her missing child any good by not answering some of these.

Possibly. But in all honesty, the bulk of those questions would have done nothing to move the investigation forward. In abduction cases time is of the essence, and to hear the Plod laboriously ploughing through such clearly irrelevant guff, when it is quite possible your child was still somewhere in the locality, must have been infuriating.

As none of us know what happened I don't see how you can say that.

No doubt the McCanns will put their side of the story in the book. It won't stop idle speculation and outright accusations but it may help to explain the case from their perspective.

The Madeleine posters are still up all over the place in Spain.

According to the two news articles, these were questions asked after she was declared a formal suspect and are therefore (IMHO) more about securing a conviction than finding the poor lass.

It's a sad story indeed. The armchair CSI experts fueled by a media witch hunt should stick to their famous five books.

That always sounded odd to me and she never really looked upset enough like a mother would after their kid had dissapeared. Of course I can't say that would make her guilty etc but to me it just looked odd and their hired car being found later with blood in it. To be honest I wouldn't be surprised if she killed her.
