    So it's okay to torture terrorists? Anyone else? What if the Taliban, or some foreign power, thought they could save lives they hold precious, by interrogating someone innocent; this isn't so far removed from reality. Someone innocent just happened to know when and where an event (or whatever) was being held and they wanted to blow it to smithereens, like Americans. This might save them many lives.
    Interrogate yes, anything causing permanent physical harm or death, no.

      Okay, as long as Bush's moral argument fallacy is put to bed.

      Waterboarding is incredibly cruel IMO, perhaps worse than death. Victims are essentially brought back from the brink of death over and over again.

        Do you not think waterboarding can cause death or permanent injury?
        And what exactly is wrong with an "ad hominem" argument? Dodgy Agent, 16-5-2014

          It is. I've done it once when the snow melted in Meribel at the end of the season.
          Its really hard when you fall over.
          Hard Brexit now!

            It could, but then I would call it drowning someone, which is murder.

              Of course to "terrorists", they are nothing of the kind. It's the other side who are the devil. The guy being tortured just happens to be amongst peers of the opposite side. Not a happy place.

                Well at least we don't chop their heads off with a rusty knife then upload it onto you tube.

                  Ok, how about...

                  Based on my knowledge and experience, yes it is justified. War is not a clean environment that can be analysed piecemeal like dissecting a fly.

                  Btw, I'd take you more seriously if you didn't resort to insults everytime someone disagrees with you. It just makes you appear infantile and petulant.

                  Hth but I sincerely doubt it.

                    No, but some have been tortured, and this isn't really much good either;

                    I'm not saying there's no moral difference between the allies and Al Qaeda, but each time acts of torture or lawlessness are committed, that moral difference becomes very blurred in the eyes of many people.

                      Do you want to know how many members of the IRA were knifed in the top of their heads and left under manhole covers?
