No never kill anyone for information or permanently injure them physically, or give in to their demands.

The principle is surely to take the option that would save most lives.
And for your old lady scenario, I would get Wayne Rooney in.
      Hard Brexit now!

Again, fallacious argument from adverse consequences.

Plus Fallacy 4; Non sequitur. It does not follow from torturing some Ali Kebab chap who supposedly runs Al Qaeda that terrorist attacks would have been prevented.
And what exactly is wrong with an "ad hominem" argument? Dodgy Agent, 16-5-2014

All lives being equal? Even a head of state, commander or a relative, compared to a grunt?

Deep mental scars are okay though?

                Fallacy 5; Straw man

kandr, Sasguru is presenting some arguments in favour of waterboarding; why don't you leave him to it? I might not agree with him but he's doing a better job of giving rational arguments. All you've done is present a load fallacious baloney.

                  More fallacious nonsense.

                    As you were.

I was making the point that because of your lack experience and knowledge in this area that you debating the topic is rather pointless.

He is saying the same as me, all you are doing is quoting some stuff you read on Wikiipedia to avoid answering the question. Its a valid question, and as lots of Governments over the world use this method, I think they should be trusted more than some random Wikipedia addict. They hire very intelligent people, (reading the fallacy wikipediia article wouldn't qualify you for a job there btw)
