FT.com / UK / Politics & policy - Councils detect housing fraud of £100m
Housing tenancy fraud has emerged as one of the biggest issues, the commission said, with almost 1,600 social housing properties recovered that had been illegally sublet. That, however, is only a fraction of the estimated 50,000 houses and flats that may be illegally occupied, helping push up the bill for temporary accommodation for homeless families to almost £1bn a yearComment

NL thought they were doing the feckless a favour by giving them an easy life but in reality they ruined their prospects by removing any incentive.Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave JohnsonComment

That is not borne out by the above, so you were essentially making it up, much like the BNP does.

I am not knocking people in genuine need. I just think it wrong that they should be better off than the taxpayers who are funding them. We all have to cut our cloth to fit our circumstances.Comment
