FFS I'm sick to death of funding these ******* parasites. I'm all for "From each according to his ability, to each according to his need" but christ on his bastard bike I do not see for the life of me why someone who doesn't work can have a better lifestyle than me when I have to get up before it's bastard light in the morning to traipse down half the flaming country to find a decent job and those feckless bastards won't.

Thanks all. I feel better now.

The Mrs and I were having a good old rant and rave about this last night as we've moved out to the suburbs to be able to afford to live in a decent sized place. I also get up before it's light have an almost 2 hour journey into work etc which is often made harder due to drunken unemployed chavs making noise all night long at the bus stop outside our block of flats.

One of her friends at work is up in arms over being sent a questionnaire about how many people they have (just her and her husband) in their 4 bedroom council house for half of what we're paying and 1/2 an hour closer into town... And these people are both working as well!!

If you can't afford to live in an area but want to live there - get a f*&^*ing job so you can afford it. If you're already working and not earning enough to live in a property of the size/location you want - get a better job or get promoted.

I'm so glad this entitlement mentality is getting the rug pulled out from under it's feet.

Wrong! You've only truly become middle class when you rant about 'these people' around the dinner table on Sundays having just read the Wail.

                  Here's some stats for you!

                  As of July 2010

The total number of people receiving Housing Benefit was 4.78 million, with 5.80 million claiming Council Tax Benefit

3.50 million Housing Benefit recipients were aged under 65, representing almost three quarters of all Housing Benefit recipients

Just over 69 per cent of Housing Benefit recipients were tenants of Social Sector landlords and almost 31 per cent were tenants of Private Sector landlords.

Just over two thirds of both Housing Benefit and Council Tax Benefit recipients are in receipt of a Passported Benefit.

The overall average Housing Benefit award is £84.28 per week, and for Council Tax Benefit recipients, the overall average award was £15.94 per week.

3.80 million Housing Benefit recipients were single, with almost two-thirds of these being female. Of the 1.59 million recipients with at least one child dependent, just over 1.1 million were single

Housing Benefit and Council Tax Benefit
