...and while this was on....we were playing live Rockabilly in the local pub.

We´ve added some 60´s guitar instrumentals to the setlist, they just loved Wipeout.

YouTube - The Ventures Live: Wipe Out / pixelmuttz.blogspot.com

They were dancing to this one.

YouTube - The Ventures - Lullaby of the leaves ( USA guitar instrumental early 60's )

..and we get paid plus free beer and food

    Rock on

    I'm alright Jack

Wasn't Parkinson on Saturday nights at one point? Sufficiently late to go to the pub first of course.

Otherwise you were lucky if you got a decent film. I think Saturday night telly took a major downturn in the 1980s; at one point I became quite convinced that the breweries were sponsoring crud so that we'd be forced out of the house.

Most of the chat shows were on the tv on a Saturday, there's always been some sort of z list nonsense on ITV, but this dancing sh1te???

Just show how oblivious I am to it all when someone at work said "I can't wait for strictly to start" and I had to ask them what they were talking about???

I remember come dancing with Angela Rippon, dear god, I am getting old.

These days I dread trips to the hairdressers or beauticians and the strike up a conversation which seems to consist of asking me about x factor and random reality tv stars and I'm absolutely clueless as to what they are talking about. And there's always the old copies copies of hello, goodbye and good afternoon in the waiting area, which means I can flick through and try and guess who half the people featured in are.

I'll stick to downloads of American TV, the news and my dvds ta!

Caprica is just BSG dressed up as dynasty, don't waste your time....

Try Fringe and Supernatural, also V the remake is good if you like camp sci-fi, if you want gritty try breaking bad, it's a very refreshing drama.

                    For balance.

                    Caprica is 'fraking' good IMO.
Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave Johnson
