For the last 5 months, I figured it would be ok to hang around as I've been looking for a way out from day one.
Do you think they knew this was on the horizon when they offered you the permy job? Maybe so the new employers would be able to find a nice cheap resource they could lay off without having to pay them off?

Spot on, they moved the company from London so most of the long timers left of their own accord then out of the blue lost a big contract and transferred the rest out to their so called 'competitor'.

Don't I saw our corporate KPI's recently. The one associated with unwanted attrition was a lot higher than average, probably no relation to the huge service centre we built in Bobland.
