But you do know somewhere that does cheap mojitos

Real ale is neither warm nor flat. Anywhere that serves it warm and flat is to be avoided.

        Yep

Unfortunately not on a Friday night and not central

So Ship and Shovell until someone decides otherwise?

WFM. It's handy for just about everywhere. Anyway, I'd like to actually see the place

Let's just hope that the upstairs isn't booked out that night, otherwise it's a tight squeeze downstairs

They'll have their xmas ale on tap by then.

Can't help thinking the Ship & Shovell would be a bit of a tight squeeze, unless we can book the whole of the upstairs room.

Any votes for the Marquis of Granby, in Cambridge Circus?

It's about 100 yards from Leicester Square tube, and a stone's throw from several large pubs in Soho. I believe they serve real ale, and there's a large room upstairs.

Just over the road, the other side of Cambridge Circus, is the Spice of Life, which is also roomy although I don't know what the beer is like.

I think both these pubs do grub.

Admittedly the S&S is a tad on the small side and it would cost greatly to rent the upstairs.

The two pubs that you suggest are good pubs, but are very much on the packed side on a Friday.

I think an investigative night is in order to discern a suitable quaffing parlour. (aka lets go out and have a pub crawl in central London)

Unless anyone would have a problem with bankside?????

                    I don't mind anywhere

We're sorted the date but I don't live in London so I'll leave the location to others

I have been invited along by another CUKer, so technically have a hot date
