I think we'll have to book food if it's a bit more formal than Thursday nights. Some people will be coming down specially and it's only fair that food appears somewhere during the evening.
Only problem with booking is that we do not get the numbers to justify the cost. We may have 30 people say they are coming and then 6 turn up on the night as is always the case.

I'm sure we've met before. You must've been very, very drunk.

Sure - if you want some suggestions - what kind of area (assuming Central)? What kind of atmosphere? We'd need to be booking now, really - and have some confidence with numbers. IIRC the Xmas bash we had in Islington turned out to be a success, and it was £5 down for everyone who'd confirmed - only had 1 person owing me a fiver, but the whip covered that in the end.

Looks like I can make it after all. Any day is fine with me.

        I'll be there from 11am.

The only important criteria: good real ale and no dress code.

As long as you wear at least a pair of trousers I don't think anyone will complain.

Islington? I remember that place ... was good even though I drank a little too much and down a side alley

I suppose the main factors are location ease of transport. If we've got people driving / training down from Manchester (CM and Churchill) the easier a place is to get to the better. Also a selection of decent hotel nearby is usually a winner as well.

                WHS and a central location.
