Only problem with booking is that we do not get the numbers to justify the cost. We may have 30 people say they are coming and then 6 turn up on the night as is always the case. -

Sure - if you want some suggestions - what kind of area (assuming Central)? What kind of atmosphere? We'd need to be booking now, really - and have some confidence with numbers. IIRC the Xmas bash we had in Islington turned out to be a success, and it was £5 down for everyone who'd confirmed - only had 1 person owing me a fiver, but the whip covered that in the end.Comment

I suppose the main factors are location ease of transport. If we've got people driving / training down from Manchester (CM and Churchill) the easier a place is to get to the better. Also a selection of decent hotel nearby is usually a winner as well.Comment
