I think a lot of it will come down to how much the current mob alienate the voters over the next 4 years. Joe Public's memory is remarkably short when it is their own nuts that are getting the kicking. And what a great many of the 20-50 year olds don't realise is that their pension rights have been siphoned away, and they will only realise that when they reach the age that they were thinking about getting the carpet slippers out. I suspect in the years to come there will be a lot of Victor Meldrew's reporting for work.

What exactly has changed since the new Governement got in?

IR35 still here. Tax is still going up. Looks like more outsourcing on the way. Is it really getting better?
The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.

But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.”

If he lurches to the left as far as his union backers are expecting him to - then he'll be slaughtered at the next general election.

However, I suspect that now he's got the job, he'll change his tune...

He went ahead when Ed Balls dropped out. Say no more. Trouble is, he is supposed to be charismatic. Given the stupidity of the British electorate that might be enough to inflict another Labour government on us next election. Never mind the policies.
