How do you break this cycle???
Is your bedroom ventilated at night?

My house is about 60 years old and doesn't have any vents build into the walls. If I sleep with the windows closed and the door is shut, the room gets very stuffy and I have a terrible nights sleep.

Just by opening one of the small windows a fraction, enough fresh air enters the room to replace the used air and I generally wake up feeling fresh(er) in the morning.

Reading around on the interweb, I think you need something like 10L/s/person (dont quote me on that) of air replacement.

The difficulty is in the winter when I dont want to freeze overnight but know I need to keep a window open.

      Sounds very high

you're probably breathing in less than 2 litres per second whilst your sleeping and you won't be using all the oxygen from that.

Usually it's build up of CO2 that does you in, when breathing in a confined space, rather than oxygen depletion. Quite a small percentage can be toxic. Though anything approaching toxic levels are likely impossible in a house room.

While you're waiting, read the free novel we sent you. It's a Spanish story about a guy named 'Manual.'

Could be hypoxia, some if not most of his posts are euphoric/deranged.

Don't change your sleeping habits over the weekend. It has a big impact on your body clock setting and resetting every week.

They have been bad recently. In fact, I blamed the dog the other day and I was the only one in the room!
