Yes, but they don't tend to try and take you down the nick for only having a photocopy of your passport & visa..."See, you think I give a tulip. Wrong. In fact, while you talk, I'm thinking; How can I give less of a tulip? That's why I look interested." -
It goes both ways - they can beat you up, or just plain kill you and escape easily: that happens a LOT so don't bother saying UK police does the same, it does NOT.Originally posted by Moscow Mule View PostYes, but they don't tend to try and take you down the nick for only having a photocopy of your passport & visa...Comment

Tis true and yet some companies are still ploughing massive amounts of cash in to there. One I know of is doing it despite getting burnt before (and for no small sum). It's viewed as such a massive market that they seem willing to take the hit/risk. Same as China IMO.Originally posted by Mich the Tester View PostRussia corruption "may force Western firms to quit"

It's much easier in Nigeria (despite having to bribe rebels to avoid attacks) because people there are pretty modest and whilst they would want a bribe they won't be also taking your business altogether, in Russia though there is no limit to greed and stupidity - a deadly combination.Comment
