Sas is just a bit antsy because his abacus skills are useless since the computer was invented and he hasn't quite figured out the new fangled gadgets yet.

You couldn't hack it as a developer, no shame in that. Stick to something you're good at. In your case, something at which you're less crap.
Spod - In "Couldn't give a damn if it helps or not" mode!
Which is more than you've done.

I am surprised people think programming is hard (I suppose looking at the people who argue it is some special skill I am not surprised they think it is hard). The first couple of years are a learning curve then it's pretty easy after that.
Oh I suppose the usual suspects will question my ability but I was technical lead of a company at 29. But then I studied Engineering and Maths and do not struggle writing code. Hell, 12 year old kids are breaking into companies networks, it's not a hard science.Comment

I've never met a good programmer who thinks what they do is easy. That's because they tend to use their full brain power for the job at hand which means they often think about and consider things that the ones who just "write code" generally don't.
I'm inclined to agree that mathematicians make the best programmers.

OK, let us set a bet.Originally posted by AtW View PostWhy wait? Start right now ...
Next Friday an independent person on this site chooses 10 sites, I will write an app that will work out the back links for these sites and you can produce the back links from SKA. The winner is the person that produces the most accurate back links. We will see if your 7 years have been wasted.
Bet?Last edited by minestrone; 29 July 2010, 19:04.Comment
